Obsidian has secured a resolution to grant planning permission from the Vale of White Horse Council for its proposals to regenerate the former Rogers Concrete quarry on the edge of Faringdon, Oxfordshire with a residential-led mix of uses including 95 dwellings and employment space together with public open space. The approved scheme incorporates 19% affordable housing provision by virtue of an economic viability case.
The former 3.7 hectare quarry is owned freehold by Obsidian and the resolution to grant consent marks the conclusion of a 3 year technically challenging project including securing separate minerals discharge consent from Oxfordshire County Council and delivering major site clearance works. Obsidian worked with a highly specialised project team including; Turley Associates, Landmark Chambers, Thrive Architects, Glanville Associates, Development Intelligence, Minerals & Planning, Enplan, Chillmark Consulting, and BPG Limited (viability).
